Bandar Lampung itself is not a very touristic place. However, there are still some attractions available around, e.g., snorkeling in the white beaches nearby or observing dolphins in the sea. From the notable natural wonders, there is volcano Anak Krakatau located in the sea between Bandar Lampung and Java island. Depending on its activity, the volcano is sometimes accessible by boat, or it is possible to observe its activity from the neighboring island. There is also a natural resevation Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park with many rare and endangered species of fauna and flora. However, it is a rainforest and not very suitable for casual tourism.
There is a direct flight from Bandar Lampung to Jogjakarta in central Java with ancient temples Borobudur and Prambanan. Via Jakarta you can get to other Indonesian islands like Bali, Lombok, Komodo. Apart from unique culture an cuisine, which are usually specific to each island and region, they offer beautiful nature with sea and mountains. It is quite reliable budget airline.
